Greg and Cindy Anschutz
Associate Pastor, oversees Outreach Ministries

Greg Anschutz has lived in the Newton and Walton County area all of his life. He credits Cindy, his wife of thirty-one years, for first encouraging his walk with Christ and for her constant support in ministry. Having suffered with a speech impediment for many years, Greg sought intervention from God so that he could fulfill the ministry to which he had been called. Just one month after delivering his first sermon, Greg received the divine healing that he had so desired. Since that time, Greg has actively served the Lord in a number of administrative, ministerial and pastoral roles. Today, Greg and Cindy serve as Associate Pastor at the Monroe Church and they provide leadership to the Feeding the Flock Food Ministry. The Anschutzs enjoy spending as much time as possible with their three children and two grandchildren.

Calvin and Leah Smith

Worship Arts Administrator

Leah began singing in church when she was about five years old, harmonizing with her family.
In 2008, Leah's stepdad pastored a church in Lula, Georgia. Leah lived and worked in Athens but drove to Lula to attend service there. That is where she began to sing on her own and play piano.
Fast-forward to the present – Leah now plays the piano and leads the worship team in an eclectic variety of songs at The Monroe Church, where she has attended since 2010. Leah also plays the bass guitar for the church choir and sings lead/soprano in a band with her brother and sister called Blind Mercy.
In addition to her roles in music ministry, Leah is the Youth/Young Adult Sunday school teacher, the Executive Director of the Women’s Ministry Department, as well as the Christmas production director at the church.
In her down time, Leah enjoys party planning, baking homemade sweets (like cupcakes, fudge, and truffles) and venturing outdoors with friends (going hiking, cycling, or running).
Leah says, "My goal is to create an atmosphere that welcomes the Holy Spirit, but not just through music and lyrics. I want my life to be an atmosphere where He feels welcome at all times."
